[Foresight-i18n] localization: OO-org localisation

Hi,
just wanted to let you know how things look from perspective of simple
users. My father, who only speaks german got an update of OO.org
lastly where he got a requester to acknowledge some points. He
described the problem to me as "he has no writer any more". This is
because:

a) The dialogs did not look like OO.org
b) OO.org is in english so he did not know what this all means.

So I think the biggest issue here is the missing localisation. I
already think about giving him Abiword rather because thats fully
translated.

Just to let those native english speakers again know how those things
that may work for your parents dont work for parents who do not speak
english. ;-)

So concrete question: When will Oo.org be fully translated in
Foresight. Just to say: A distribution which has no localized word
processor is not acceptable. I feel that I should remind you all about
this, because I can imagine that from most native english speakers the
system looks 100% localized while from our perspective its 20%
(Firefox and Thunderbird missing also) which makes up what most people
love to use.

We havent talked about this. But we have a localisation team now. But
as I said - localisation seems also to be a general development issue
as I cant just work on localisation if the package itself is the
blocker. I know Oo.org is huge, is a beast - but please provide us
with some insight or time table when things will change!

tia,

Thilo
