My eeepc (first generation) comes with instructions on how to netboot via XP
(not that I've actually read them).
I think the realistic candidates here are:
-USB stick (most likely).
-Netboot (mostly for the geeks, but also for people who don't own a big
enough usb stick).
-Camera card (at least my eee has slots for SD, MMC etc. -- bootable, I have
no idea, the screen has been removed from my eeepc because it smashed and I
don't have a monitor laying around -- can someone investigate this?)
Netboot would have to be done in a more complex fashion because if we assume
they have foresight, we still have to provide a clean way for them to share
the image if we want to simplify the process. I say the manual way is
better.
Really, unless you want to be in a world of pain, you should be looking at
the usb stick install procedure, but I think it would be handy to have
netboot instructions too. If I find some time, I don't mind writing them up.
