A first draft is up at:
http://wiki.foresightlinux.com/confluence/display/marketing/Foresight+Linux+Monthly+Newsletter+Volume+I%2C+Issue+I+%28March+2007%29
Big rocks remaining:
1. Package updates - any big ones to call out that have been updated since
the 1.1 release? I believe kernel 2.6.20 is standard now, but I wasn't sure
where else to gather that information.
2. Development News - is there anything we want to mention? New packages
for the next release (which I assume is a point release with GNOME 2.18.1 on
4/11/07?) Worthy of being discussed?
3. Foresight in the press: we had a few web links with the 1.1 release and
GNOME 2.18 release - anyone have those to share? Any magazines? I thought
I remembered Thilo saying a German magazine did a story and included a
Foresight 1.0 disc?
4. I'll add the Laptop tips & tricks tomorrow (or anyone else can, feel
free, I only know the basics). I wanted to crank out some content tonight,
and that's easy to come back to. Will focus on some GNOME applets you can
add, CPU scaling, etc.
5. Contributing - I need to update that, add some specific content around
the newsletter is well.
I like to believe I have above average spelling and grammar skills, but I do
know my writing style can be a bit dry. Please feel free to edit the wiki
or send feedback, I take criticism well, and won't be offended. I really
liked Kevin Harriss' idea around featuring an application each month, so I
quickly wrote up Banshee, my favorite app. We don't have to do that one
this month if folks want to write something else, but quickly.
Thanks for the feedback, I'm starting to get excited about this now!
