Antonio and I will be discussing next steps and current issues /
blockers with fl:2 tomorrow. My current recommendation is when it's
done. This does mean we will have to have a plan in place for GNOME
2.22 and the release snapshot for 1.4.x and fl:2 in March. (Call me a
pessimist, but 2.22 is set for release on March 12th - that's less
than a month away!)
Major issues off the top of my head for fl:2 include:
1. fl:1 to fl:2 migration
2. Syslinux performance when unpinning an old kernel (fl-872) (has
anyone tested dual booting yet?)
3. Migrate to 2-qa and finalize QA and contrib process
4. Password-less console login after install (fl-864)
5. Stabilize Packagekit and add metadata (Lots of minor issues that add up)
6. KDE release (Not sure of status on XFCE)
7. Need to clean up JIRA with a bug hunt week(s) before release
8. Firefox (Include Firefox 2 or 3? 32 bit vs. 64 bit, though that
should be resolved very soon, recommendation is 32 bit)
9. Update Userguide for 2.0 (Including PackageKit documentation, new
video card process, and KDE / XFCE documentation)
10. Port many, many packages from fl:1 to fl:2
That's just off the top of my head, some are obviously more major than others.
