As someone who has used Epiphany for the last 9 months, and wants to
move back to Firefox, the 64 bit of Firefox does seem much slower. It
also freezes up for 5-10 seconds when loading some webpages (flash,
javascript? I dunno), which is really annoying. Can't scroll, switch
tabs or do anything.
My major issue is Flash support - which is more than just Firefox, as
it doesn't work in Epiphany either. We need to be able to ship x86_64
with Flash enabled, in today's Youtube era, it's a must.
I'm not sure what you mean by plugins not working natively - I assume
it's Flash, Mplayer, etc.
How does the impending release of Firefox 3 affect this issue and
Foresight in the near future?
If shipping 32 bit Firefox makes the user experience better, I'd vote
for that, and if a user wants a 64 bit browser, Epiphany is still
there.
My 2 cents - I don't know all of the issues, or how hard it is to
address them. I just like having stuff work.
