We could actually add a flavor to the group and build both versions
from the same group-dist. We do this already for ati and nvidia.
Would be trivial to do that for OOo + firefox and gnome components.
We need to see how the new OpenOffice.org will shape up with the
localization fixes that are happening now.
As opposed to forking, I would like to improve the QA process to make
things more stable. We really just need more testers and a process.
Slowing down updates is not the right thing to do. That just means
our hardware support gets worse. Things like hal, udev, and the
kernel need to keep moving forward. With each new release the range
of supported hardware grows.
