Hi,
what are the things that need fixing now (priorities)?
What are the plans for next release 1.2.1? I guess this will be
another minor release?
What should be our next bigger release? Are we seeing RPL:2 before May
30th? Because thats our next release day for GNOME 2.18.2. i have
added all version numbers till 2.20.0 to JIRA for GNOME Live Media
Project:
http://issues.foresightlinux.org/secure/project/ViewProject.jspa?pid=10010
I think this would be good to know because then one could plan
differently - we would know that we would build on RPL:2 maybe so
would not fix things that would be change nonetheless. BTW: It would
be great if rPath would have fixed release dates because that would
make things much easier. I find the release cycle of GNOME very
helpful.
If we still build on base of RPL:1 I guess we will number the 2.18.2
release 1.3 ? BTW I would love to give our releases names, too. That
is because I think people like names more than numbers. And I think
this would be more important than switching to GNOME number theme.
Also I do not have trust in the GNOME politics AND we are having
different priorities.
For the naming I suggest we do not use any of the themes that others
use, but come up with something different. Question would then be:
Should the name reflect something of the release or should it be just
names that are picked by random like Debian does. Before I think more
about it I would like to hear what you think.
T-Shirts: Still something that would be cool. To start we would need
the sources of the current logo (SVG?). Can we have that? Then it
would be easy to produce a big JPEG that really anyone could use to
print his own - or we do set up at least one printing possibility that
also enables Ken to get some money that he either spends for his
children or for the distribution ;).
One task for Ken: I have create a page:
http://wiki.foresightlinux.com/confluence/display/marketing/History+of+Foresight+Linux
Can you please write something about the early ideas and maybe at
least some words for every release. We might add link to your blog
posts for that maybe?
So this all just to push use again a bit further. Hoep we are getting
more people who like to jump on our waggon.
Thilo
